IBM Embedded PC DOS 7.0

IBM Embedded PC DOS 7.0 is IBM's 15th release of DOS. Based on the original desktop PC DOS source code base, it is highly compatible with a very wide range of existing DOS applications and tools. Embedded PC DOS has enhanced memory support and increased modularity, allowing it to be optimized for size and performance, and it supports a wide range of Intel Architecture processors in embedded applications such as SBC's, hand-held devices, mobile and portable computers. An OEM adaptation kit (OAK) is available that provides a full-screen, easy-to-use interface for rapid development of XIP or non-XIP, reduced size and function versions of PC DOS for embedded applications.
Using the OAK, these optimized PC DOS ROM images can be built in minutes and ready to be burned into ROM. Embedded PC DOS includes an extensive set of commands and utilities, including PCMCIA support, docking support, dynamic loading of device drivers, file synchronization and Advanced Power Management. Pen support and Stacker compression are also available. And BIOS support is available from IBM. Additional technology to support Intel Architecture products is available from IBM's extensive software library.
IBM offers a simple, low-cost OEM contract and pricing structure that is geared especially for the embedded market, and development support is available directly from the IBM PC DOS development team.
